Silver Turquoise Howlite Dangle Earrings

This is a pair of pretty turquoise howlite earrings.

The earrings are made from 925 sterling silver, handwound rings and ear wires with genuine howlite chips. all the silver rings are soldered and they are tumbled for brightness and hardness.

What is howlite you ask? Don't worry, I've got ya.

Howlite is a mineral from the same family turquoise. Like the aforementioned mineral, naturally white howlite is extremely pourous and accepts dyes very easily. The veining on it makes it a perfect candidate for a turquoise substitute. It is also a little harder than turquoise and therefore will last longer. This is a real stone and the only treatment is the turquoise dye. Most of what is sold as genuine turquoise is either howlite or a resin mix of inferior turquoise. the real deal is very hard to come by and is appropriatly expensive.

It is around 20mm wide and hangs a comfortable 35mm long. Pretty and delicate, but able to withstand daily wear.
